Disproportionate case: SC notice to CBI, Bihar govt
Friday, December 2 2005 12:31 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (Dec 02, 2005) issued notices to CBI and Bihar government on a petition by RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi, challenging the grant of sanction to prosecute them during the previous Chief Ministership of Nitish Kumar in disproportionate assets case.

They have challenged the Patna High Court verdict, which had dismissed their plea on the sanction granted by the Governor when Kumar was Chief Minister for seven days in March 2000. A Bench comprising Justice K G Balakrishnan and P P Naolekar sought the reply from the investigating agency and the State within two weeks.
