HC sets aside TADA court order in Salem case

Mumbai: The Bombay high court today (December 2, 2005) set aside a special court order restricting interrogation of extradited gangster Abu Salem, by only two officers of the Anti Terrorist Squad of Mumbai police.

A High Court bench of Justice D G Deshpande and V M Kanade quashed the order on a petition filed by the ATS today (December 02, 2005).

A special TADA court had ordered that not more than two ATS officers would interrogate Salem in their ongoing probe into the 1995 Pradeep Jain Murder case.

The TADA court order came after Salem complained that too many officers were interrogating him, putting mental pressure on him.
