Mumbai: The Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh on Saturday (December 3, 2005) said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi was responsible for the `blackout of news pertaining to superstar Amitabh Bachchan's hospitalisation in Mumbai, on Doordarshan'.

"It is Sonia Gandhi who is behind the news blackout on DD," Singh told reporters here.

However, he did not elaborate on the issue.

The Samajwadi Party leader said that the megastar was responding to the medical treatment being administered to him at the Lilavati Hospital, where he is admitted after undergoing a major surgery.

"Amitji is talking to family members and is responding to the medication," Singh added.
