MP: BJP accepts Uma loyalist Prahald's resignation
Sunday, December 4 2005 16:39 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Dec 4, 2005) accepted the resignation of Uma Bharti loyalist and former Union Minister Prahlad Patel, who was suspended for anti-party activities during leadership change in the state, besides sounding a warning to party workers that their participation in her Ayodhya march will be considered as indiscipline.

"His (Patel's) resignation has been accepted," state party spokesman Bhupendra Singh told reporters, shortly after a meeting of party functionaries chaired by state BJP President and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the presence of party General Secretary Sanjay Joshi.

Patel, claiming to be insulted by action against him when he had not committed any indiscipline, had put in his papers and had accused the party of deviating from its ideology, besides pledging to support Bharti in her march.
