DK Police using IT to reach out to public, press

Mangalore: To strengthen its relationship with the press, the Dakshina Kannada police has come up with a novel idea of using Information Technology to reach out to the press as well as general public, a top police official said.

A new weblog (blog) has been created in the internet where in all important matters relating to the district police will be regularly posted which can easily be accessed by reporters, B Dayanand, Superintendent of Police, told reporters here today.

"The blog is in English," he said, adding, "English, Kannada interface has also been provided."

"In this blog, in addition to news clippings, there is also provision for press photographs as well," he said.
