George Fernandes undergoes neurosurgery at AIIMS

New Delhi: Former Union Minister and Janata Dal - United (JD-U) President George Fernandes today (Dec 10, 2005) underwent a successful neuro surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.

Fernandes, who had been admitted to the AIIMS on December six after he complained of sustained headache, was operated upon to remove fluid accumulated in the brain, JD(U) General Secretary Shambhu Shrivastava told sources.

The former Defence Minister is doing fine and recovering well, he said.

Fernandes will remain in hospital for a few days.
