'BJP leaders must take DNA tests to reveal ideology' Sunday, December 11 2005 16:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Begumganj (MP):
Giving a new twist to her attack on senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, expelled party leader Uma Bharti today (Dec 11, 2005) suggested that they undergo 'DNA tests' to reveal the quantum of party ideology and principles present in them.
Similarly, DNA tests of those associated with the party government in Madhya Pradesh should also be carried out to find out how much of BJP ideology and principles they possess, Bharti told reporters in the midst of her Ayodhya march, without taking any name.
Describing herself as the 'real' BJP, the firebrand leader claimed that she would get the tests done with the help of party workers after completion of her ram-roti yatra.
Claiming that her fight was not aimed at grabbing chair or power, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said it was to uphold the party's ideology and principles.
"Power should not be handed over to wrong people and not to any betrayer at any cost. People respecting swadeshi and su-raj should adorn the chair", she said.
Terming BJP parliamentary board's decision to be against democratic norms, Bharti said equal punishment should be given for offences of same category in the party and added that she would have been considered a slave had she remained silent in the party.
If people think she had committed indiscipline, party President L K Advani was also guilty of breaking discipline and same action should be taken against him as in her case,
Bharti claimed.
