Naeem Khan, alleged aide of extradited gangster Abu Salem and wanted accused in Pradeep Jain murder case, was arrested by the anti-terrorist squad of Mumbai police at international airport soon after his arrival from Dubai last night (Dec 11, 2005), police said.
Naeem will be produced before TADA judge PV Bavkar later in the day, police told sources here today.
With the arrest of Naeem, police claim to have achieved a major breakthrough in builder Pradeep Jain murder case.
According to police, Naeem allegedly collected extortion amount from businessmen and handed over to Salem. He had also reportedly collected money from Jain in early '90s on behalf of Salem.
Jain was gunned down allegedly on Salem's order in March 1995 after he refused to sell a plot to another builder at a throwaway price, police said.
