MP bribe scam: Shekhawat refers to Ethics Committee
Monday, December 12 2005 14:46 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Taking note of a sting operation by a TV channel showing some MPs taking money for purportedly raising questions in Parliament, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today (Dec 12, 2005) referred the matter to the Ethics Committee.

"I have decided to sent it to the Ethics Committee for necessary action and give its recommendations for due consideration of the House," Shekhawat said in a suo motu statement in the House.

He said the incident had undermined dignity of the House and members would have to think seriously on how to maintain its dignity.
