Patna:
Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP and brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, was today (Dec 12, 2005) interrogated for nearly three hours by state vigilance bureau in connection with the multi-crore flood relief scam.
Yadav was quizzed by a battery of officials led by investigating officer of the case Ashok Kumar Singh, superintendent of police, Vigilance, about transfer of Rs six lakh into his account by the kingpin of the flood relief scam Santosh Jha, bureau sources said.
The sources, however, refused to divulge the details of the interrogation saying it was confidential.
Additional Director General of Police (Vigilance) Neelmani told sources that Yadav's statement will be verified.
Emerging out of the vigilance office, Yadav told reporters "I gave reply to every question they put to me" but refused to give details.
Yadav, RJD MP from Gopalganj, was issued a notice on November 29 to appear before the vigilance bureau today seeking to know from him from where the money was transferred to his account with State Bank of India in January this year.
The RJD MP's private assistant Prabhakar Singh has already deposed before the bureau officials on Wednesday last.
The kingpin of the scam, Santosh Jha and high-profile former Patna district magistrate Gautam Goswami are currently lodged in Beur jail in connection with the scam.
