Sunday, December 18 2005 10:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chennai: Rains since yesterday (Dec 17,2005) night, due to a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, lashed many parts of coastal Tamil Nadu including the metropolis.

Weather Office here said the deep depression, 'Mala' now lay 400 kms south-east of Nagapattinam.

It was likely to intensify and move in a northwesterly direction.

Under its influence rains or thundershowers are likely at many places in coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry during next two-days, the weather office said.
