Agra: IAF aircraft crashes, no damage on ground

Agra: An Indian Air Force aircraft crashed near a village, some 15 kms from here, this afternoon and initial reports said both the pilot and the navigator baled out safely.

The Canberra Reconnaissance Aircraft crashed near Jataura village immediately after take off from the Agra air base, police said.

Initial reports said the two occupants of the aircraft, the pilot and the navigator, had ejected safely.

There was also no damage on the ground.

The Canberra aircraft were of 1950 vintage and were initially inducted into the IAF as bombers.
