No mid-term elections in Karnataka: Dharam Singh
Monday, December 19 2005 11:10 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Gulbarga: Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh yesterday (Dec 18,2005) said the outcome of this week's zilla and taluk Panchayat elections would have no bearing on the stability of the Congress Janata Dal (JD) Secular (S) coalition Government and ruled out mid-term polls in the State.

Speaking to reporters at his residence here, Singh said the Government would complete its five-year tenure and would not go against the wishes of the people who have elected the Government for the full-term.

The Congress and JD-S have not forged any alliance for the zilla and taluk panchayat polls being held in two-phases on December 19 and December 23 and are contesting the elections on their own.
