Sonia meets PM for Cabinet reshuffle-cum-expansion Tuesday, December 20 2005 10:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Congress President Sonia Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday night (Dec 19, 2005) after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security.
There was no immediate official word on the meeting between the two but speculation was that they could have discussed the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle-cum-expansion especially in the context of yet another vacancy created following the death of Power Minister P M Sayeed.
Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and his party colleague Sitaram Yechury also met the Prime Minister late this evening.
The CCS meeting was attended by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
