A group of armed men allegedly attacked Lucknow-bound Pushpak Express from Mumbai and threw three passengers out of the train before raping a woman near
Vidisha, about 60 km from here, police said today (Dec 22,2005).
Eight to ten attackers armed with knives and sharp-edged weapons who boarded the train in Bhopal, went on a looting spree and beat up passengers in the general bogie when the
train approached Vidisha around yesterday (Dec 21,2005) midnight, Government Railway Police (GRP) said here.
The attackers threw three passengers out of the train when they offered resistance, sources said adding that the three have been admitted to a hospital in Jhansi, where their conditions were stated to be critical.
The gang member also dragged a woman into the toilet and raped her, officials including inspector general of police (GRP), P L Pandey have rushed to Jhansi and further probe was in progress, they said.
