Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today (Dec 22,2005) ordered the chairman of Railway Board to get the alleged rape of a woman in a running train near Vidisha, about 60 km from Bhopal probed but denied any passengers were town out by dacoits who assaulted passengers and looted valuables.
''This is an unfortunate incident though the woman is not prepared to undergo a medical check-up to ascertain rape, I have asked the chairman of the Railway Board J P Batra to
get the matter probed,'' he told reporters.
He, however, denied reports that some passengers were thrown out of the Mumbai-Lucknow 'Pushpak Express' near Vidisha.
The Railway minister said an FIR has been registered on the basis of a complaint by a resident of Hardoi, Noor Mohammed who alleged that the woman was raped.
The Government Railway Police jawans, who were on duty in the train, had failed to board it resulting in the incident, he added.
Reports from Bhopal said three passengers were thrown out of the train by a gang of eight to ten attackers and their condition was stated to be serious.
