The Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai Police arrested a builder this evening in connection with the 1995 Pradeep Jain murder case involving extradited gangster, Abu Salem, sources said.
Builder Virendra Kumar Jhambh was booked on the charge of abetment in the crime and has been charged under TADA, sources said, adding that he will be produced in court today (Dec 23, 2005).
According to ATS Joint Police Commissioner, K P Raghuvanshi, Jhambh allegedly acted as conduit for Salem in the transfer of extortion money from the Jain family to the gangster, after Jain was murdered allegedly by Salem's henchmen.
