Builder Virendra Kumar Jhambh, held in the Pradeep Jain murder case, was today remanded to police custody till January three by a TADA court here.
Jhambh was arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai Police last evening in connection with the 1995 Pradeep Jain murder allegedly planned by extradited gangster, Abu Salem, sources said.
Builder Virendra Kumar Jhambh was booked on the charge of abetment in the crime and has been charged under TADA.
Seeking Jhambh's custody, ATS told the court that the builder allegedly acted as a conduit for Salem in the transfer of extortion money from the Jain family to the gangster, after Jain was murdered allegedly by Salem's henchmen.
