Cash-for-query scam: Ten Lok Sabha MPs expelled Friday, December 23 2005 17:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
It was a day out today (Dec 23, 2005) for the ten MPs in the Lok Sabha caught on camera while accepting money for asking questions.
None of the ten members was seen in the House when it took up a motion moved by Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee seeking their expulsion in the wake of the Inquiry Committee finding their continuance as 'untenable.'
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had asked the members on December 12, when the TV expose broke out, not to attend the House till the investigation in the matter was completed.
The 10 members are Narendra Kumar Kushwaha (BSP), Annasaheb M K Patil (BJP), Manoj Kumar (RJD), Y G Mahajan (BJP), Pradeep Gandhi (BJP), Suresh Chandel (BJP), Ramsevak Singh (Cong), Lal Chandra Kol (BSP), Rajaram Pal (BSP) and Chandra Pratap Singh (BJP).
The MPs have been shying away from the media since the expose was telecast.
