New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha Committee on Ethics, which went into the cash-for-query scam, today (Dec 23, 2005) recommended expulsion of BJP member Chhattrapal Singh Lodha, saying, "his conduct is derogatory to the dignity of the House".

The Committee, headed by Karan Singh, also said Lodha's conduct was "inconsistent with the Code of Conduct which has been adopted in the House".

It, however, made observations against the sting operation, saying in some countries such an expose is illegal under the law.

"Perhaps the time has come for Parliament to consider the broad question of regulating such under-cover operations, which necessarily involve expenditure of large sums of money by the agencies concerned, and also an intrusion into individual's privacy," the Committee said.
