Kerala: Sri Lankan Minister denied entry into India

Thiruvananthapuram: A Sri Lankan Minister who arrived here from Colombo was denied entry into the country after his visa was found expired yesterday (Dec 24, 2005), Emigration sources at the airport here said.

Sri Lanka's Minister for Rehabilitation and District Administration, M S S Amir Ali, was denied entry as his SAARC visa was found expired on December 21, sources said.

The Minister was planning to visit Kelakkarai in Tamil Nadu.

However, a companion of him, Rishad Badruddin, was allowed entry as his visa was found proper, sources added.
