POTA court asks Green Bungalow to be returned Tuesday, December 27 2005 12:55 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ahmedabad:
The POTA court yesterday (Dec 26, 2005) set aside Gujarat Government's decision to attach 'Green Bungalow' as a property belonging to Karachi-based don Sharif Khan and instructed that the bungalow be returned to its rightful owners.
POTA court judge S G Gokani termed the decision by the Gujarat Government to designate 'Green Bungalow' as Sharif Khan's property as illegal and asked it to be handed over to one Jagdish Shah, the owner of the bungalow, said an advocate handling the case.
According to police, the bungalow worth crores of rupees, is believed to have belonged to Sharif Khan who is wanted in several cases, including those connected with Gujarat riots.
Police had earlier arrested three city-based criminal lawyers for aiding Khan by trying to sell off the property.
The bungalow located in the walled city was later sealed and attached as the property belonging to Sharif Khan.
