Rabri to be served final notice to vacate Anne Marg Tuesday, December 27 2005 17:40 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Faced with reluctance of Rabri Devi to vacate the 1 Anne Marg bungalow immediately, the Bihar building construction department (BCD) is considering to serve a third and final eviction notice to her to make way for the new Chief Minister.
"In accordance with the relevant rules, the department is seriously contemplating to serve a third and final notice of eviction to the former CM to vacate the bungalow, earmarked for the CM", BCD Minister Monazir Hassan told sources today.
"The government do not want to make it (vacating 1 Anne Marg) an issue. Even Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has never shown any eagerness to shift to the new bungalow immediately. But, there is laid down rules for everything", he said.
Despite expiry of the two notices earlier served to Rabri Devi, she has neither vacated the bunglow nor applied for time extension. So the department was working on further action as per existing rules, he said.
However, he did not divulge when the third and last notice would be served.
The first and second notice served to Rabri Devi on November 24 and December 13 respectively. The second one expired on December 22.
Rabri Devi and RJD president Lalu Prasad had shown reluctance to move out of 1 Anne Marg bungalow, their house for the past 15 years, and shift to new allotment, 10 Circular Road, earlier occupied by her MP brother Sadhu Yadav.
Sources close to the duo have said they would go to their new house after celebrating the 'Makar Sankranti'.
