Vajpayee leaves BJP meet to pay homage to RSS leader

Mumbai: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Dec 27, 2005) left for Gwalior mid-way through the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive meeting here to pay homage to veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist and former editor of 'Swadesh' Manik Chanda Vajpayee.

Vajpayee, who left for Gwalior by a special flight would be returning later in the evening to attend the party's silver jubilee convention beginning tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in a condolence message he expressed deep sorrow over Manik Chand Vajpayee's demise and said the RSS activist contributed immensely towards creating awareness and inculcating the nationalist spirit in Madhya Pradesh.

The former Prime Minister said the senior most Sangh activist the late Vajpayee played an important role in spreading the message of RSS and BJP in the state.
