Centre seeks report from Gujarat govt on mass grave
Wednesday, December 28 2005 20:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The Centre has sought a report from the Gujarat Government on the digging out of skeletal remains from a mass grave in Panchmahals district, the Congress party said today (Dec 28, 2005).

"This is very unfortunate. There cannot be another example of killing of human beings. The CBI has ready rushed its team while the Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a report from the state government in this regard", AICC general Secretary Janardan Dwiwedi told reporters.

He said the digging out of so many human remains at one place was 'heart-breaking'.

Earlier, Reacting to the digging out of skeletal remains from a mass grave, chairperson of the AICC's Media Department Ambika Soni accused state Chief Minister Narendra Modi of 'always attempting' to run the state instilling "fear and social tension" among people.

"What had happened during the rule of Modi has lowered the image of India among the comity of nations. He always tried to create social tensions through his speeches. He tried to run the state instilling fear among the people," AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni told reporters.

Warning the Modi Government that his tactics would not work in the next Assembly polls, Soni said instilling fear may work once but would not last for long. "Those who are brave will expose the misdeeds of the Modi government".
