'IISc attack shows terror groups expanding targets'
Thursday, December 29 2005 17:41 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Condemning the terror attack at the IISc in Bangalore, the Communist Party of India (CPI) Marxist (M) today (Dec 29, 2005) hoped the Central Government would consider the fact that terrorist groups were choosing diverse targets, while working out a strategy to counter such acts.

"The Bangalore incident is a clear indication that the terrorist groups are diversifying their targets for attack," a CPI(M) Polit Bureau said in a statement here.

"The Central Government and the security forces will have to take this into account when working out a strategy to counter the terrorist activities," it said. CPI(M) also conveyed its heartfelt sympathy to the family members of IIT Professor M C Puri, who was killed in the attack at the IISc Campus last night.

The party said the 'premediated' assault at the premier scientific and academic institution was a cause for 'deep concern'.
