The court was hearing a petition filed before Justice C K Buch yesterday after some of the relatives of Gujarat riot victims dug up a mass grave besides Panam river and found skeletal remains believed to be of those killed in the massacre in nearby Pandrawada village during the 2002 riots.
The order was issued by Justice Buch.
The petition was filed by one of the relatives of the riot victims while an NGO, 'Citizens for Justice and Peace' was the second petitioner in the case.
The petitioners had also asked that the samples of the skeletal remains be sealed immediately and sent to Red Hill laboratory in Hyderabad for DNA testing.
