B'lore: Letter warns of attacks at CM's residence
Friday, December 30 2005 11:40 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Karnataka police today (Dec 30, 2005) said they had received a letter warning of bomb attacks at Chief Minister N Dharam Singh's residence and a five-star hotel on New Year eve.

The letter, by a man calling himself Moinuddin, had claimed that there would be explosions at the hotel and later at the Chief Minister's residence by two human bombs and it would be one of the most systematic executions ever to take place in the country.

It pleaded with the Police Commissioner to stop the attacks by 'Al Jehadees'.

The letter, addressed to the Chief Minister and the Police Commissioner, had been faxed to a newspaper office here.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) M C Narayana Gowda said that the police had also received the letter. "These areas (such as Chief Minister's residence) are well protected," he said.
