B'lore cops form special team to probe IISc attack Friday, December 30 2005 17:49 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
The Bangalore City Police have formed a special team headed by an officer of Inspector General of Police rank to investigate the December 28 terrorist attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) it was announced today (Dec 30,2005).
The special team would have Deputy Commissioner, three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), five Inspectors of Police and other supporting staff, City Police Commissioner Ajaykumar Singh told a press conference here.
He refused to divulge the names of officials of the special team saying, "Let us leave it here and not press for more information".
Singh said the team has been sent to some other states and declined to specify the place of visit.
In the first ever shocking terror attack, M K Puri, a scientist from Delhi was killed and four others were injured.
