Lankan govt ready for talks with LTTE: Rajapakse

Guruvayur: Stating that the Sri Lankan Government was keen to pursue the path of peace, President Mahinda Rajapakse today (Dec 30, 2005) said the Government had made it clear that it was ready for talks with the LTTE.

The Government had made it clear that it stood for peace with all sections of people in the island nation and it expected LTTE would respond to it, Rajapakse said in a brief chat with reporters after offering worship at the Sri Krishna temple here.

Rajapakse said his visit to India was successful and it would help strengthen the co-operation between the two nations.
