Kofi Annan condemns Palestine attacks on Gaza

United Nations: United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan has condemned Saturday night's (Dec 31, 2005) attack on the world body's recreational facility in Gaza and asked the Palestinian Authority to take all possible steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The attack was carried out by an unidentified group and attackers beat up a local UN guard before detonating explosives which seriously damaged the premises.

Annan asked the Palestinian authority to prevent recurrence of such attacks and ensure law and order.
