CBI urges TADA court to grant custody of Siddique Monday, January 2 2006 20:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Mumbai:
CBI today (Jan 2, 2006) urged a designated TADA court to grant the custody of Riyaz Siddiqui, who has already been arrested in the Pradeep Jain murder case, for his alleged complicity in the 1993 bomb blast conspiracy.
CBI moved an application before designated Judge P D Kode who deferred the matter until tomorrow (Jan 3, 2006).
Meanwhile, CBI would seek extension of Salem's judicial custody in the 1993 bomb blast case.
According to CBI, Riyaz Siddiqui had allegedly supplied arms to killers of builder Pradeep Jain in 1995 and had also allegedly given weapons to Abu Salem which were used in the 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai.
CBI contended that they would like to know whether the arms supplied to Pradeep Jain murderers and Abu Salem were part of the same consignment that landed at Raigad coast prior to the 1993 bomb blasts.
