Case filed against 11 people for digging mass grave

Ahmedabad: A case has been filed today (Jan 2,2005) against 11 persons, including the field officer of an NGO which is working for the riot-affected victims, on charges of illegally digging up the mass grave near Lunavda in Panchmahal district of Gujarat, police sources said.

The accused including the field coordinator of NGO Citizens for Justice and Peace, Rais Khan, have been charged with conspiracy and destruction of evidence by digging up the grave without official permission near Panam river on December 27.

Villagers from Pandharwada and Lunavada are also among the co-accused for participating in the matter.

The complaint has been filed by Subhash Jain, sanitary inspector of Lunavada, sources said.
