On the second day of his three-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar where 5,000 people perished in the killer waves last year, Singh will visit the Car Nicobar island, one of the worst-hit areas by tsunami, to pay tribute at the Tsunami Memorial and lay the foundation stone for a stadium.

He will also interact with the tribal leaders and lay the foundation stone for a hostel in Campbell Bay Island.

The Prime Minister will place a wreath at the Air Base of Indian Air Force, which was ravaged by the giant waves that killed scores of Air Force personnel.
