Militant gave clues on LeT links, say B'lore police Thursday, January 5 2006 19:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Abul Rehman, arrested in connection with the Indian Institute of Science terror attack, has provided clues on his links with the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit, a top police official said today (Jan 05, 2006).
"Police are gathering information based on them (clues)," Bangalore Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh said.
Speaking to reporters, Singh said he has no knowledge of any arrest of some suspects either in Chennai or in Kolar in Karnataka in connection with the December 28 incident.
On Rehman's family members reportedly telling the media that he is innocent, the police commissioner declined to make any comment.
Rehman was arrested from Nalgonda in Andhra Pradesh on January one, and he is currently in police custody.
Police had said then that the arrest would lead to a major breakthrough in the case, which had raised security concerns in many parts of the country.
