Chennai: An earthquake of slight intensity was felt early today (Jan 5,2006) in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, the Met Department said here.

The tremor, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, was epicenter at Latitude 15.5 degrees north and Longtitude 80.1 degrees east, the Regional Meteorological Centre said here in a statement.

The quake was felt in Andhra Pradesh town of Ongole at 0447 hrs, it added.
