Mumbai: A designated TADA court today (Jan 5,2006) remanded extradicted gangster Abu Salem to police custody till January 9 in the 1993 bomb blast case.

Earlier Salem was in judicial custody in the same case.

Producing Salem before the court amidst high security, CBI pleaded that it needed his police custody to interrogate him in the light of revelations made by co-accused Riyaz Siddiqui.

Siddiqui was arrested yesterday in the same case and CBI alleged that he was instrumental in supplying arms and ammunitions to co-accused, including film star Sanjay Dutt, at the instructions of Salem.
