Congress spreading poison of communalism: Rajnath Friday, January 6 2006 10:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Hailing the Allahabad High Court verdict rejecting the Centre's plea for restoring the minority status of Aligarh Muslim University, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh yesterday (Jan 05, 2006) charged the Congress party with spreading the 'poison of communalism' in the country.
"Congress is spreading the poison of communalism. The so-called secular parties are tearing apart the social harmony. They are all communal", he said in an informal chat with reporters here.
He said only those parties were really secular which believed in "justice for all and appeasement of none".
"The Congress always thought of forming the Government but not of building the society and the country", he said.
Meanwhile, party Spokesman Prakash Javadekar termed the High Court verdict as a "double blow to the appeasement politics of the Congress" as it came within 24 hours of the Supreme Court refusing to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court decision to quash five per cent reservation for Muslims in the state.
