New Delhi:
Under Congress attack in the phone-tapping issue, embattered Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh today (Jan 6,2006) demanded that the tapes purported to show him in poor light be made public and alleged that a big industrialist and a journalist-turned MP were involved in the 'conspiracy'.
"I am not afraid of blackmail and will expose those behind the entire operation", he said addressing a press conference here shortly after he told the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the industrialist and the MP behind the operation.
"The whole thing (against me) is produced and directed by10-Janpath", Singh alleged and demanded that it should be made public.
He claimed that atleast 60 tapes involving leaders of different political parties, including that of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress were in the possession of Sonia Gandhi and said he would be meeting non-congress leaders to caution them.
He alleged that the entire phone-tapping plan was executed by All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Ambika Soni, former aide of Sonia Gandhi Pulak Chaterjee, Principal Secretary (Home) Delhi Government R Narayanswami, the Journalist MP and several other associated with 10-Janpath. Congress and the Central
government have already denied the charge.
The Samajwadi Party leader, who yesterday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha, said he would be meeting President A P J Abdul Kalam shortly. He will also meet Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chadrababu Naidu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and
other non-congress leaders, Singh said.
