Tapping case: Amar Singh accuses industrialist, MP Friday, January 6 2006 14:55 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Greater Noida:
Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh today (Jan 06, 2006) said he had told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that he suspected the involvement of a 'big industrialist' and a 'journalist MP' in the 'tapping' of his phone.
"The Delhi Police has also maintained that a big industrialist, who is colluding with the Congress and a journalist MP, is paying Rs 80 lakh for tapping my phone," he told reporters after a function here.
The SP leader said he had told the Prime Minister about the people he suspected of being behind his alleged phone tapping, but declined to name them publicly.
"I won't name them without evidence. If he can pay Rs 80 lakh for tapping my phone, he can give Rs 5 crore to that detective to keep his mouth shut and Rs 10 crore for my murder. The issue is not just about my phone tapping, but about my reputation, which someone is bent upon destroying," Singh remarked.
