Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh yesterday night (Jan 05, 2006) held a long meeting with RSS Joint General Secretary Suresh Soni and is understood to have discussed key issues including appointment of new office bearers and the national executive of the party.
Singh drove to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters at Jhandewalan here late in the evening and had a one-to-one meeting with Soni, party sources told sources.
The new BJP Chief is also believed to have sought deputation of a whole-timer 'Pracharak' from the Sangh as replacement for Sanjay Joshi who had to quit as General Secretary (Organization) during the party's Mumbai conclave following circulation of CDs which showed him in poor light.
The RSS leader, on his part, is understood to have conveyed to Singh the Sangh's emphasis on ideology, discipline and conduct of party leaders and workers in choosing the office bearers.
