Congress ridicules Amar Singh's accusations on Sonia
Saturday, January 7 2006 10:13 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Congress yesterday (Jan 06, 2006) ridiculed Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh's charge that Sonia Gandhi was behind his phone tapping and accused him of holding the entire country to ransom due to his 'individual hobby horse'.

"He has no right to hold the country to ransom on his phone being tapped. While the temperature in Delhi is dropping, Amar Singh's mercury is on the rise. Why he is under stress"? party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters

Seeking to know why the SP leader was making a 'mountain out of a molehill', he said Singh should refrain from making unsubstantiated charges.

Singhvi did not react to Singh's criticism of AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni saying, "we are a responsible party and we cannot stoop so low".

Singhvi said anyone who criticises Amar Singh becomes a 'conspirator' in the tapping case.
