Court extends remand of 5 accused in Ayodhya attack

Faizabad (UP): A district court today (Jan 9,2006) extended till January 23 the judicial remand of the five accused in the Ayodhya attack case.

Additional District Judge Virendra Vikram Singh, before whom all the five accused - Asif Iqbal, Irfan Khan, Mohammad Naseem, Mohamad Shakeel and Mohammad Aziz were produced, fixed January 23 for further hearing of the matter.

Terrorists had attacked the Ram Janambhoomi complex at Ayodhya on July five last year but were shot dead by the security forces.

Later, the five suspected ultras were arrested from Jammu and Delhi on charges of hatching the conspiracy.
