Probe will reveal the truth in phone tapping: Shivraj Patil Tuesday, January 10 2006 20:51 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Refusing to be drawn into a discussion on the telephone tapping controversy, Union Minister for Home Shivraj Patil today (Jan 10, 2006) said the on-going investigations will reveal the truth regarding the forged letter over which the allegation surfaced and the culprit behind it.
"The Government has already registered a FIR and investigations are on into the forged letter and who did the phone tapping," he said while responding to queries by reporters here.
"Ultimately the court will decide who is responsible. I don't want to be dragged further," Patil said refusing to answer further questions on the wire tapping row, which he said was done by a private firm.
Patil rejected charges that the bugging was 'politically motivated' remarking, "It is improper to make such allegations."
