No breakthrough in Prashant Jain abduction case Tuesday, January 10 2006 12:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
With the police remaining clueless, no breakthrough has been achieved in the kidnapping of businessman Prashant Jain, who remained traceless for the sixth day today (Jan 10, 2006) even as intensive raids continued in the riverine areas of Barh and Mokama in Patna district.
Senior police super of Patna Kundan Krishnan said, "We are on the job for early recovery of Prashant but we can't claim to have vital clues unless we succeed. Several people were taken into custody for interrogation and later let off".
Krishnan said Special Task Force (STF) personnel were sent to Barh and Mokama for carrying out raids in the riverine areas.
However, a senior police official pleading anonymity said the abducted might have been shifted to some other place from the riverine areas.
The owner of the car used for the kidnapping has been traced, while the report of the forensic examination of the car is yet to be received, Krishnan said.
Jain, a garment shop owner, was abducted on Thursday night while returning to his flat on Buddha Marg sending a shockwave across the state. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said in Hyderabad yesterday that he was in constant touch with the police and raids were continuing to rescue the abducted businessman.
