'Opposition's charge on telephone tapping not true'
Tuesday, January 10 2006 16:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today (Jan 10, 2006) refuted the opposition's charge that Government was involved in telephone tapping of its political adversaries.

"All I can say on this issue is that Government is not involved," he told reporters here.

The minister also said he has definite information from the Home Ministry that the charges levelled by the opposition parties were 'incorrect and not fair'.

To a query on whether Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh has sought an appointment to meet him on the issue, Pawar said, "I am certainly there to meet anybody, including Amar Singh, but I have definite information that the charges are not correct and are not fair."
