Abducted garment shop owner Prashant Jain remained traceless for the seventh day today (Jan 11,2006) despite a massive search operation carried out at several places in Patna and its adjoining districts for securing safe release of the trader.
Special Task Force (STF) assisted by the district armed police personnel searched several places in the riverine areas of Barh and Mokama once again yesterday but returned
empty-handed, police said.
The owner of the car used for the kidnapping has been traced, while the report of the forensic examination of the car is yet to be received, sources said.
Prashant was abducted on Thursday night while returning to his flat on Buddha Marg sending a shockwave across the state.
Parents of Prashant had yesterday (Jan 10,2006) called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his arrival from New Delhi after attending a NRI meeting in Hyderabad and sought his intervention for recovery of their son.
Kumar asked the Director General of Police Ashish Ranjan Sinha to further intensify the operation to recover the abducted at the earliest possible.
Police suspected hands of notorious Tunni Singh, Sanajay Singh, Mahatma gangs and dreaded ganglord Shiv Gope, lodged in the high-security Beur jail at present, in the kidnapping.
