There was let up in the overall cold wave which continued to sweep Bihar for the past four days with significant with rise in temperatures recorded at Patna and elsewhere in the state.
Patna which experienced the coldest day this winter yesterday (Jan 10,2006) with mercury dipping to 4 degree celsius, today (Jan 11,2006) registered rise in temperature.
According to meteorological office sources, Patna recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1 degree celsius, while the cold wave condition in the pilgrim town of Gaya remained
unchanged with temperature remaining at 5 degree celsius.
Bhagalpur continued to be comparatively warm with temperature further rising to 11.6 degree celsius from 10 degree celsius yesterday, sources said.
A thick cover of fog and mist enveloped the state capital till about 9 am but the day was warm.
Government and private schools are closed due to biting cold since yesterday.
Several long-distance trains passing through or terminating at different stations in Bihar were reported running behind schedule due to fog, East Central Railway
sources said.
Weatherman forecast mainly clear sky with fog/mist and no significant change in the temperature in next 24 hours.
