Jain case: Abu Salem aide remanded to JC till Jan 31

Mumbai: A designated TADA court today (Jan 12, 2006) remanded Virendra Kumar Jhamb, city builder and alleged aide of extradited gangster Abu Salem, to judicial custody till January 21 in the Pradeep Jain murder case.

Co-accused and Salem's aides Naeem Khan and Mehendi Hassan are already in police custody till January 17 while another co-accused Riyaz Siddiqui had been remanded to judicial custody till January 31. Jhamb is accused of playing a role of conduit for Salem when he demanded ransom from Jain family after Jain's death in 1995.
