Bangalore:
The conciliatory talks between the Toyota Kirloskar Management and Union today (Jan 12, 2006) failed to reach any conclusive stage as the management sought time till January 16 to contemplate on the suggestions put forward by the Labour Department.
The management and the union today held separate meetings with the Labour Department to resolve the issue of the agitating workers who had struck work since January six to protest the dismissal of three union members and the company's subsequent decision declaring an indefinite lockout on January eight in response to the snap strike.
"We had sought a joint meeting with the management, which it refused and hence we were forced to hold separate talks with the conciliatory officers", Meenakshi Sundaram, general secretary of the state committee of the CITU told sources today.
"The labour commissioner put forward three in the last ten years and we are hoping it will improve further this year".
In the review that was taken during the meeting, it was found that this business transaction exceeded in the last ten years, he said adding the cabinet on an average met more than once a week.
"This is not intended as a publicity", he said adding this only showed that the government was committed to dispose all pending works.
